Many times the buyer cannot pinpoint what is missing but they know there is a certain quality they need that is not there.

Define your market- analyze and recast aspects of design, color, lighting, texture until you get it right
Define function- make sure each room looks like its intended purpose. If you want to showcase the beautiful dining room, make it look like a dining room
Figure out your objective- who are you designing for? Look at neighborhood demographics to gauge who’s most likely to buy and emphasize how your house works for them. If it is a young couple with kids make sure you highlight space for toys
Scale objects in the room right- skewed proportions in furnishings, art, or ceiling heights drive the entire design scheme off the rails and is very obvious
Proportion for large spaces- the bigger the home, the more difficult it is to furnish and find appropriate décor. They call for big components like a large lighting fixture, that will take up space and make the room feel warm and balances
